Thank god – laughter is back in town: FUNNY LAUNDRY startet in die Herbst/Wintersaison 2010! Stand-Up Comedies sind in der englischsprachigen Welt mindestens so populär wie Fussball, Rugby und Musikveranstaltungen zusammen – und auch bei uns wird «The new Rock’n’Roll» immer populärer! Nach der Sommerpause versüsst uns Guy Stevens mit «FUNNY LAUNDRY» und vielen illustren Acts der englischsprachigen Stand-Up Comedy-Szene jeweils einmal im Monat den Donnerstag Abend und alle Ex-Pats und solche die’s werden möchten, sollten sich den Genuss der Crème der Standup Szene nicht entgehen lassen! Die neue Saison sticht mit einem gemischten Doppel aus England ¬ in die See des hochkarätigen Humors: Jo Caulfield seit Jahren erfolgreiche female Comedian und Trevor Lock, hochkarätig & improvisationsstark – Diesen Donnerstag sollten Sie sich fest vormerken. Er ist nämlich nur etwas für Ex-Pats, die sich ein Stückchen Heimatzurückwünschen, in der Funny Laundry wird eines jeden Zwerchfell bearbeitet, dass es eine Freude ist! Für eine einmalige Ambiance sorgt das Kuppelzelt, für das kühlende Nass die Kuppelbar und Guy Stevens und seine Künstler sind für die Lachmuskeln zuständig! Best-known for her legendary one-woman shows, Jo Caulfield is “one of the finest female comics at work” (The Observer) and has recently been nominated as “the best female Stand-Up in the country” (Chortle.co.uk). She is also Graham Norton’s head writer. “She is, quite simply, a damn funny woman” (The Scotsman). Jo was born in Wales to Irish parents and brought up in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. She grew up believing the East Midlands was her oyster. At 17 Jo left home and moved to London to sing and play drums in a Rockabilly band. This was an unusual decision as Jo can neither sing nor play drums. “Many of the points Jo Caulfield makes about the human condition would have sociologists stroking their beards in admiration, but her audience tend to be laughing too much to notice. Do not miss her.” (The Times). “Definitely the rising star of women’s comedy. Her mixture of cutthroat wit and wildly accurate observation regularly brings audiences to their knees with laughter.” (Evening Standard). Standup, Theater, Radio, Television – Trevor Lock is one of the most origirnal acts in comedy, particularly noted for his immense ability to improvise! |
